Veronica was born & raised in San Francisco, California, where the fog has its own name: Karl! She received a BA in Anthropology from San Francisco State University before pursuing her Elementary Education Teaching Credential and Masters in Teaching Reading from the University of San Francisco. Veronica is proud to be half Colombian and speak some Spanish. She has a big, extended family back on the West Coast, including her adorable baby niece, Mia, whom she video calls obsessively! Here in Charlotte, Veronica has two kitties, Oliver and Luna, who have more energy than a room full of first graders! When she is not corralling her fur babies, Veronica enjoys exploring all that Charlotte has to offer - as a new Charlottean, she welcomes any and all suggestions for fun things to check out! 

Some of Veronica's favorite things include enjoying a good book in a cozy chair, all things Harry Potter (Hufflepuff pride!), and iced coffee, which she says pretty much runs through her veins!
