Cheryl McLaren, Math 1 Teacher
Cheryl McLaren graduated with her Teaching Degree degree in Secondary Education/Math from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 1998. She taught high school math (grades 8, 10, and matric) for 6 years before immigrating to the US. She taught 6th grade Math in CMS before leaving to become a stay-at-home mom in 2012. Once her youngest began kindergarten, she yearned to be a part of the classroom once again, and began subbing at Bradford in 2019 and later working as a TA. Cheryl also tutored students, helping them to gain confidence in the field of mathematics. She is passionate about creating a classroom environment where students feel self-assured and willing to persevere to attain success. Cheryl lives in Highland Creek with her husband Wayne, and three daughters, Fiona, Alison, and Kate. She enjoys watching movies with Wayne, coffee dates with friends, supporting her girls on the sports field, and reading.
